AAA: American Apparel Ad’s

July 14, 2010

Generally speaking, I think American Apparel creations make for sexy photos yet wildly obnoxious and borderline revolting advertising (maybe because the clothes are crap? but probably because I like enjoying bodies without the enjoyment ruined by a transparent “buy shit” angle.) And I think people are disconcertingly eager to conflate criticism of companies and of companies’ images and messages and methods as advocation that it should be illegal for women to pose nude. But, more importantly, this line is great:

feminally: Until men bend over and spread their butt checks apart to reveal a tiny “Pizza Hut” flag- you have no male equivalent to compare this too. So, no- handsome, shirtless, Hollister models are not quite the same thing. (In response to this.)
