These images are child-like and allow me to long for that time again. When you took photographs for yourself, and no one else. The feeling I get when I look at these images is nostalgia and a light airy quality. Where nothing can alter or affect the mood I’m settling in. Her images remind me of that time when you are a kid, and you can’t stop looking at everything through your view finder. For some reason, everything through a camera lens has a better quality.

[Like many women, I used to think] I’m not good enough for someone to love, I must hide parts of me I think aren’t ‘acceptable.’ I hadn’t realized how many men relate to that—not manly or ambitious enough. Their ‘not-enough-ness’ differs from ours, but the effects are the same.” — Jane Fonda (via nightmarebrunette)

In The Ukraine, one of the last places you want to be if you have a female reproductive system, a group of women have taken to the mountains, completely cut themselves off from male contact, and study martial arts and other survival skills.
